Seemingly put off by the thought of taking a toilet break in front of its owner, the black and white tabby makes it clear it wants to be left to its own devices.
After directed a piercing gaze towards its owner, the cat decides to take the matter into its own paws with some swift and decisive action.
Peering its head around the corner of the door, the moggy reaches out to grab the handle before pulling it towards him - much to the amusement of the pet's owner heard laughing in the background.
The video was subsequently uploaded onto video-sharing website YouTube where it has racked up thousands of views in just a few days.
One amused user wrote: 'Haha this cat is awesome!'
Who needs opposable thumbs anyway? This cat certainly doesn't.
