Gatorland now offers in-home alligator program

ORLANDO, Fla. -

A central Florida animal attraction hopes to extend alligators' habitat into Florida homes and businesses.

Gatorland in Orlando has provided the alligators living in the atrium at the Gaylord Palms Resort and in a tank at a seafood restaurant in Kissimmee.

Now the vintage Florida attraction is offering to install and maintain glass tanks holding young, foot-long alligators in homes and businesses.

Gatorland's chief of off-property shows, Chris Sears, says the young gators can be switched out when they outgrow their tanks.

Sears says he hopes hotels, schools and homes will become miniature alligator sanctuaries.
