Police in Guangxi province of China were suspicious of a car that looked heavier than it should be and discovered 39 pangolins packed into a compartment in the back of the vehicle.
On Janauary 24th port officials in Fangcheng had their suspicions raised when a car carrying 2 people appeared to have fake licence plates. The police followed the car and then overtook it and braked sharply as they came to a toll barrier. The car though appeared to take longer to stop than it should and the way the car slowed down concerned the police as it appeared to be heavier than it should for just 2 passengers.
