The Nail in the Coffin for the Mission Beach Agiles?

The Queensland government has authorised the slaughter of the last remaining Agile Wallabies at Mission Beach after locals continue to lock heads in a battle to save or slaughter the towns unique and friendly natives. The native wallabies along with the Cassowary Coast Wildlife Shelter have been the victim of years of abuse and attacks by a small but violent section of the community. This battle and the complaints of a loud minority has tragically lead to another massacre authorised by the Queensland government last week.

Only last year the government authorised local developer Wahroonga Holdings to kill 600 Agiles at Mission Beach on land being subdivided for housing at the pristine Lugger Bay.

Before that the government estimated only 1000 wallabies remained at Mission Beach yet authorised 600 to be killed. With only 400 estimated to be left, the government has signed another death warrant, this time for 1000 wallabies, which if you do your maths, will wipe out the entire Agile population at Mission Beach.

Please speak out for these wallabies now on death row at Mission Beach QLD.

Call for Environment Minister Powell to do his maths so he can see that he has now authorised the extinction of the last remaining Agile wallabies on the Cassowary Coast, the extinction of a animal adored by so many who live there, and many more who visit there as tourists.

Call for Environment Minister Powell to do his maths so he can see that he has now authorised the extinction of the last remaining Agile wallabies on the Cassowary Coast, the extinction of a animal adored by so many who live there, and many more who visit there as tourists.

Urge Minister Powell to re consider this knee jerk, cruel, short term solution to a problem that could be easily addressed without bullets. Urge him to consider long term, humane, intelligent solutions such as wallaby proof fencing in sensitive areas, the preservation of wallaby habitat and wildlife corridors, signage and community education programmes.
